Andrew Brown has been placed on the disabled list with Triple-A Las Vegas.
Brown suffered an oblique injury Sunday and is out indefinitely. He was considered the top candidate to replace the struggling Ike Davis, but is now looking at missing extended time. Mets GM Sandy Alderson insists that a demotion for Davis is "not imminent."

Brown tallied three hits in 15 at-bats. The 28-year-old outfielder could get another look later this summer.

Andrew Brown smacked a solo homer in Saturday's loss to the Pirates.
Brown, who was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas last weekend, made the start in left field Saturday. The home run was off left-hander Tony Watson in the ninth inning. The 28-year-old has posted some big numbers in the minors, particularly against southpaws, but it has yet to translate during sporadic at-bats at the major league level. The Mets are struggling to get any production out of their outfield, so the opportunity is there for the taking.

Mets purchased the contract of OF Andrew Brown from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Brown, 28, was hitting .367/.440/.622 with two homers, 27 RBI and a 1.062 OPS in 25 games at Triple-A. He could see some starts against left-handed pitching.

Jenrry Mejia (elbow) racked up six strikeouts over three innings during his first minor league rehab start with High-A St. Lucie on Friday.
Mejia has been on the disabled list for the entire season with inflammation in his pitching elbow. He's likely to require a relatively lengthy rehab assignment, and shouldn't be expected to return to the Mets until early June. Should he secure a spot in the Mets rotation, he could carve out a decent amount of value in NL-only and deeper mixed leagues.

The move cleared a spot on the Mets' 40-man roster for Aaron Laffey. Santana (shoulder) won't pitch this season.

Francisco will rest for 72 hours before trying to throw again. The reliever was pulled from his minor league rehab assignment over the weekend due to soreness, but he's avoided a serious setback.

Collin McHugh was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill the vacant bullpen spot. Atchison has been shut down for a week and prescribed anti-inflammatory medication. It's not clear when he might return.
