Nomar Mazara is not in the Rangers' lineup Wednesday against the Twins.
Mazara has seen his average fall from .352 to .247 during a recent 2-for-31 dry spell. Shin-Soo Choo will handle right field and bat eighth against Twins lefty Hector Santiago on Wednesday. Mazara started the first 21 games of the season, so he was probably due for a night off anyway. Daily Slant: Hector Santiago has gotten off to a nice start, but he's been fortunate against RH bats to start the year and he very well may start to regress in Arlington this evening. Santiago has held RH bats to a .254 wOBA, but that's coming on the back of a .235 BABIP, an unsustainable number given his contact rates (20.0 Hd-Sft%). He's sitting at just a 5.7 HR/FB rate against RH bats this year compared to an 11.1% rate last season. The entire Texas lineup - outside of Shin-Soo Choo - is playable in this spot. Apr 26 - 4:09 PM
