Brett Oberholtzer struggled Tuesday, giving up nine hits and two runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Rangers.
Oberholtzer had at least two baserunners in each of the first three innings but managed to escape the jams. He was unable to do the same in the fourth, when a Robinson Chirinos home run and, later, a Dan Robertson RBI single plated runs. Two more hits in the fifth inning ended Oberholtzer's night. The left-hander fell to 5-13 with a 4.39 ERA overall in what was likely his final start of the 2014 season. With some established starters and young emerging stars, he'll enter spring needing to earn his spot in the Astros' rotation. Sep 23 - 11:06 PM
