Dylan Axelrod held the Red Sox to two runs and four hits in six innings to pick up a win Monday.
It's just Axelrod's second win in nine outings this season, but he's given the White Sox five quality starts, plus two more in which he was pulled in the sixth having allowed three or fewer runs. He's now probably moved back ahead of Hector Santiago with John Danks due back and a rotation spot on the line.

Dylan Axelrod finally notched his first win after allowing three runs and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings Wednesday against the Twins.
Axelrod has pitched better than this several times this year, but he never received run support like he did today in what turned out to be a 9-4 victory for the White Sox. His future in the rotation is in doubt with John Danks on the way back. With a 4.27 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP, he hasn't been bad so far. Still, Hector Santiago would seem to have more upside as a starter.

Dylan Axelrod had a rough go of it in Friday’s no-decision against the Angels, giving up five runs on seven hits in his six innings of work.
On the plus side, he did rack up six strikeouts on the evening while walking only one. Through his first 41 innings, Axelrod owns a 4.17 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 22/12 K/BB ratio. While he’s been decent, he could be at risk to lose his spot in the rotation once John Danks is cleared to return from the disabled list. He’ll hope for better results against the Twins in Minnesota on Wednesday.

Dylan Axelrod gave up two earned runs over 7 2/3 innings Saturday in a loss against the Royals.
Axelrod did not record a strikeout, yielding eight hits and a walk while falling to 0-2 on the year. He has a decent 3.60 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 35 innings but can't really be trusted outside of AL-only fantasy leagues.

Gordon Beckham isn't playing Friday with Triple-A Charlotte due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left hand.
Beckham had surgery in mid-April to remove the hamate bone from his hand, so the White Sox don't want to take any chances. He's expected to be held out of action until next Wednesday at the earliest.

Chris Sale has been scratched from Wednesday's scheduled start against the Red Sox due to mild tendinitis in his left posterior shoulder.
It's obviously a tough break for Sale's fantasy owners, but the good news is that the move is viewed as precautionary and he's expected to be ready to start next Tuesday. Hector Santiago will get the ball Wednesday in Sale's place. He'll be pitching on three days' rest.

Gavin Floyd underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair the ulnar collateral ligament and flexor muscle in his right elbow.
The surgeon told the White Sox that the operation "could not have gone better." However, since he needed two major areas operated on, the recovery is expected to be 14-19 months rather than the standard 12 months for Tommy John surgery. With that timetable, Floyd probably shouldn't be counted on for a whole lot in 2014. He'll be a free agent over the winter.

White Sox transferred LHP Leyson Septimo from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
Septimo has been out all season with a left shoulder strain. He's begun a rehab assignment but now will not be eligible to return until May 22.
