Mariners general manager Jerry Dipoto said that Chris Iannetta will serve as the club's "primary catcher" in 2016.
That would seem to indicate former top prospect Mike Zunino will begin next season back in the minors. Zunino was sent down to Triple-A in late August last year after hitting an embarrassing .174/.230/.300 over 112 games. Some more seasoning for the 24-year-old probably is the right move.
