Danny Salazar struck out nine batters but allowed four runs over seven innings in Tuesday's loss to the Royals.
Salazar's first inning was his undoing, as Alex Gordon singled, Kendrys Morales was hit by a pitch and Eric Hosmer hit a three-run homer. Otherwise, Salazar was terrific, allowing just five hits all night without walking a batter. The loss was his first, dropping him to 3-1 with a 3.81 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 37/5 K/BB ratio. When his control is on point, as it has been since returning to the Indians on April 18, Salazar is as dangerous a pitcher as there is in the game. He'll look to get back in the win column Sunday against the Twins. May 5 - 10:38 PM
