Mets prospect RHP Noah Syndergaard allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits in four innings on Monday in his season debut for Triple-A Las Vegas.
The right-hander fanned two batters and walked one in the outing, throwing 37 of 54 pitches for strikes. Syndergaard had his original start pushed back several days due to concerns regarding forearm stiffness he experienced during spring training, and he was expected to be on a 60-pitch limit on Monday. After an up-and-down spring in big league camp, the 22-year-old Syndergaard, one of the game’s top pitching prospects, will bide his time in Triple-A until there’s an opening in the Mets’ starting rotation. However, his injury status definitely is worth monitoring moving forward. Apr 14 - 1:33 PM
