Michael Wacha allowed six runs on seven hits over four-plus innings in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Wacha was working with a 3-0 advantage before he even threw his first pitch, but he was unable to hold the early lead afforded to him by the offense. Chase Utley burned him for a solo home run in the second inning, with three more runs scoring in the fourth inning. Two of those came home off the bat of opposing number Kenta Maeda, who laced a single down the third base line on a hanging curve. The final two runs on his line scored via the bullpen after he allowed runners on before being pulled with nobody out in the fifth. Wacha will carry a still-sturdy 3.66 ERA and 1.24 WHIP into a home start against (once again) the Dodger when he next takes to the mound. May 26 - 1:16 AM
