Blake Treinen surrendered four runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 innings Thursday in a no-decision against the Mets.
Treinen had a 2.27 ERA in his previous six starts this season, but he struggled right from the start today and ended up allowing eight hits. His year is now likely over, though the Nationals may choose to send him to Florida next month on the off chance they have need for him at some point during the postseason. Overall, he went 2-3 with a 2.49 ERA in seven starts and eight relief appearances, allowing a total of one homer in 50 2/3 innings. On another team, he'd have a good chance of entering 2015 with a rotation spot. With the Nationals, though, he'll probably be a fallback. Thu, Sep 25, 2014 04:48:00 PM
