Robbie Ray dropped to 8-15 after giving up five runs in 4 2/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Nationals.
Ray finishes with an 11.25 K/9 IP, which ranks 21st all-time among pitchers to qualify for the ERA title. Unfortunately, he also finishes with a 4.90 ERA, which is the third highest mark ever for a pitcher with 200 strikeouts. Many will look at the strikeouts and label him as a 2017 breakthrough candidate. We're not quite as optimistic; he should be quite a bit better than this, but he doesn't project as a top-of-the-rotation guy. Sep 29 - 5:09 PM
