James Loney hit a pair of homers Friday as the Rays beat the Indians 9-2.
The game was delayed three times by rain, with the delays totaling nearly five hours. It was Loney's third career two-homer game, with the others coming way back in 2006 and 2007. He ended up hitting six homers in May after hitting just one in April. Well, actually the second homer tonight came in June, but it won't show up that way in the stats.

James Loney hit his fifth homer and walked Thursday in the win over the Marlins.
Loney's average has been dropping steadily these last couple of weeks, but he now has four homers in May after hitting one in April. He totaled just six homers in 434 at-bats for the Dodgers and Red Sox last year.

James Loney continued his hot hitting Sunday, going 2-for-4 with a homer as the Rays beat the Padres 4-2.
Loney is now batting .376/.429/.560 with three home runs and 20 RBI in 37 games. The hotness seems doubtful to last for much longer, but the 29-year-old first baseman deserves to be owned and started in most standard fantasy leagues while he's in this groove. Loney, 29, is a .285/.342/.423 career hitter in the majors.

James Loney hit a two-run homer as part of a six-run second inning and the Rays beat the Padres on Saturday.
The Rays broke the game open off rookie starter Burch Smith in that second frame. Loney has had a bit of a career resurrection in the early going for Tampa Bay and is now hitting .371/.426/.533 with two homers, 19 RBI and two steals through his first 36 games. While he can’t continue at this pace, fantasy owners should continue to ride him while he’s hot.

It will come after he plays catch on Sunday and again on Monday from a greater distance. It looked like Price might return earlier than expected after an impressive simulated game last Thursday, but it doesn't look like that's going to happen since there's still no timetable for when he'll begin a rehab assignment.

Rays manager Joe Maddon spoke to Alex Cobb (concussion), who said there's no timetable for his return.
Cobb was diagnosed with a concussion after he was hit in the head by a line drive on Saturday and is currently on the 7-day disabled list. He'll have to be cleared by MLB before returning to action and Maddon isn't ready to say for sure when that might be. It could be a lengthy absence.

It's his first since last September's Tommy John surgery. It's possible Oviedo could make it back to the Rays' bullpen late in the season, but they signed him in hopes that he could contribute in 2014.

Rays transferred RHP Jeff Niemann from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the newly-acquired Jeff Beliveau. Niemann underwent shoulder surgery last week and is unlikely to return this season.
