Orioles prospect Anthony Santander went 1-for-5 with a homer for Salt River on Thursday in the Arizona Fall League.
It's the first homer of the AFL season for Santander. The 2017 Rule 5 draft pick missed most of the season with a forearm strain, and he's still shaking off the rust. When healthy, however, the switch-hitting outfielder shows above-average power from both sides of the plate, and makes enough hard contact to all fields to possibly have an average hit tool. He provides very little value on the bases and doesn't walk much, so that power and hit tool is going to have to max out for him to be a regular. It's not impossible, though, and he could help Baltimore in 2018. Fri, Nov 10, 2017 11:40:00 AM
