Utah executive Kevin O'Connor denied a television report that he'd be stepping down from his job with the Jazz.
O'Connor is the former GM of the team, but he stepped into a diminished role last season with Dennis Lindsey replacing him. A local TV station reported that O'Connor would leave the team and hand all duties to Lindsey, but that was met with a fierce denial. "Not true, and I have no comment," he said.

The Salt Lake Tribune says a scenario in which unrestricted free agents Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap both return to the Jazz is "almost unthinkable."
When the Jazz chose not to trade either of their starting big men at the trade deadline, they set in motion a plan for salary cap flexibility. With up to 10 unrestricted free agents, they'll have upwards of $40 million in cap space. So they
could
bring back both Jefferson and Millsap for huge numbers, but it would be stunning if they did. They're better off using the money elsewhere and letting talented youngsters Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter spread their wings. Where Big Al and Millsap land will be one of fantasy's biggest offseason storylines.

Al Jefferson showed up on Wednesday with 22 points, 16 rebounds and a block in Wednesday's loss to the Grizzlies, but was the only player on his team to score in double figures in a must-win game.
They're now out of the playoffs, but at least Jefferson played very well over the last week. We have no idea why the Jazz didn't put up much of a fight, and they'll now have the whole summer to mull it over on their fishing boats.

Al Jefferson led the Jazz in a must-win situation with 22 points, eight boards, one steal and two blocks in 32 minutes during a 96-80 victory over Minnesota.
Big Al put up a 40 spot against the Wolves on Friday in a huge win, but he only needed 22 points as Minnesota struggled on offense. The Jazz will need to beat the Grizzlies and have the Lakers lose to the Rockets to become the eighth seed in the Western Conference.

Sidelined
Enes Kanter's (shoulder) agent says his client is ahead of schedule in his rehab but might not be cleared for basketball activities until August.
Kanter dislocated his non-shooting shoulder on March 27 and had surgery in Chicago a couple weeks later. Truth be told, this isn't that big of a deal. Even if Kanter can't get back on a court until August, he'll still have at least a month to rehab and get into shape before training camp opens. The only drawback is Kanter won't be able to play with the Jazz' summer league team, which Kanter's agent says was unlikely in the first place.
