J.R. Smith took the blame for the Knicks going down 3-1 in their second round series vs. the Pacers.
"I take the blame for this whole series," Smith said. "I’ve been letting my teammates down, I’ve been letting my coaches down, and it doesn’t feel good." Smith has been terrible since the second round began, and he's shown no signs of snapping out of his funk. The Knicks will fight to keep their season alive in Game 5.

J.R. Smith played through an illness Tuesday and hit just 7-of-22 shots and three 3-pointers for 19 points, two rebounds, zero assists, a steal and a block as the Knicks lost 93-82 to fall into a 3-1 hole against the Pacers.
Smith has simply been terrible since being suspended for Game 4 against the Celtics. He's not hitting shots, has missed some easy layups and looks like a player who has lost his confidence. If he doesn't find it quickly, the Knicks will have a tough time beating the Pacers in Thursday's Game 5, and now have to win three straight in order to advance to the Eastern Finals.

J.R. Smith (illness) will play in Tuesday's Game 4 against the Pacers.
Smith skipped some practice between Games 3 and 4, but he's not going to miss a playoff game with this. The Knicks desperately need him to find his shooting touch. Smith is shooting 11-of-42 (26.1 percent) so far in this series.

J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin are both going through Tuesday's shootaround in advance of Game 4 vs. Indiana.
It's a good sign after each had been dealing with an illness, and even if they're less than 100 percent physically, it is looking more likely that they'll suit up. Both are listed as game-time decisions on Tuesday.

Sidelined
Raymond Felton (ankle) is "fine," and is expected to play in Game 6 vs. Indiana after receiving treatment.
Felton's been dealing with the ankle issue since the beginning of the month, but he doesn't anticipate taking any time off and that lines up with both the Knicks' expectations and ours. Felton will play through almost anything he can, but the ankle may limit what he's able to do in terms of his mobility on Saturday.

Tyson Chandler had his wrist taped at practice Saturday but said it's "fine."
"Fine" is the same way Chandler described his back and neck, which have hindered him for much of this postseason. We have no doubt that Chandler will be in the lineup for Game 6, but we also don't think he's anywhere close to as healthy as Chandler and the Knicks say he is. The Knicks must win Game 6 to avoid elimination.
