Earl Barron started at center after being signed by the Knicks on Wednesday and blew up for 11 points, 18 rebounds and a block.
The Knicks big men are banged up, although it does sound like Tyson Chandler should be ready for Saturday's Game 1 against the Celtics. Barron's output tonight was a pleasant surprise, but it could have been a fluke against Atlanta's JV team. Quentin Richardson made his debut and hit just 1-of-11 shots for 10 points and five rebounds, while James White added 20 points for the Knicks.
