Tom Thibodeau says the Bulls are hoping Joakim Noah will not need surgery to repair his plantar fasciitis.
The injury has become a chronic issue for Noah, who barely practiced after the All-Star break. We imagine both parties would like to find a way to solve the problem for good, but the recovery from such a surgery can be long and troublesome. While Noah had some very strong performances at the end of the Nets series and to open the Heat series, it was clear by Games 4 and 5 against Miami that he wasn't anywhere close to 100 percent. The Bulls will likely re-evaluate Noah's foot after a few weeks before making the next decision.

Joakim Noah double-doubled with 15 points and 11 boards in a 104-94 loss to the Heat on Friday, adding four assists, two steals and two blocks in 42 minutes.
His minutes are back up to where they were before going down to injury. Excluding Wednesday's blowout loss, Noah averaged 41.3 minutes per game in his last four. If he's still dealing with plantar fasciitis, he's not showing any signs of it. Noah has double-doubles in each of those aforementioned games and will look to add another one as the Bulls try to level the series at 2-2 on Monday. Carlos Boozer scored a team-high 21 points on 10-of-16 shooting.

Joakim Noah could be facing a fine from the NBA following Game 2 vs. Miami on Wednesday.
A suspension is unlikely, but a fine is within the realm of possibilities. Noah was ejected in the fourth quarter of a blowout loss, but the good news is that he's very unlikely to be suspended for the next one with the series knotted at one game apiece.

Joakim Noah was ejected in the fourth quarter of Wednesday's loss to the Heat.
It was bound to happen and the technical fouls have been out in full force tonight. At the time of Noah's ejection, there were seven technical fouls and one flagrant. Noah might receive a fine for getting upset with the refs, but he shouldn't be suspended. He finished with 12 points, six boards, two assists, one steal and two turnovers in 32 minutes.

Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Thursday that Derrick Rose (knee) will be ready to go next season.
Rose didn't play all season after suffering a torn left ACL and MCL in Game 1 of last year's playoffs. The saga of whether he would return to the lineup reached nauseating levels in the second half of the year and he'll likely be dogged by questions about it all summer long. The good news is that he should be 100 percent when training camp opens next fall, which should mean a very long and productive season once Rose shakes off the rust.

Kirk Hinrich (calf) is not expected to need surgery.
Hinrich should be able to make a full recovery without surgery, and while that's good news, Hinrich remains an injury risk going into next season. He dealt with a myriad of injuries this season, but he should be able to keep his body in better shape playing a backup role behind Derrick Rose next season. Hinrich was never expected to play the role he wound up playing this year.
