The Denver Post considers impending unrestricted free agent Corey Brewer a candidate for the mid-level exception.
Brewer was a valuable reserve for the Nuggets this season, playing in all 82 games and averaging 12.1 points, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals and 1.1 3-pointers. The mid-level exception would be worth $5.1M per season, signifying a raise on his 2012-13 salary of $3.2M. Brewer has starting-caliber talent and projects as one of the league's sleepers in free agency this summer.

Corey Brewer could start at shooting guard on Tuesday in a must-win Game 5 vs. Golden State.
Brewer started the second half of the Game 4 loss in place of Evan Fournier, but George Karl hasn't revealed his starting lineup for the do-or-die game. We wouldn't be surprised to see Brewer in the starting lineup, but it would weaken the Nuggets bench.

Corey Brewer cooled off with just seven points, five rebounds and three assists in 21 minutes vs. the Blazers on Sunday.
Andre Iguodala and Evan Fournier were on fire as the starting SF and SG, respectively, which limited Brewer's opportunities off the bench. He averaged better than 20 points in his previous four games and should bounce back against Milwaukee on Monday.

Corey Brewer came off the bench for 22 points, two 3-pointers, three assists and one steal in 29 minutes on Saturday, as Denver rolled to a 132-114 win vs. the Rockets.
Brewer has exploded since Danilo Gallinari blew out his ACL on Thursday, and he's a must-own player even though Wilson Chandler (21 points) is now starting at SF. In just 24 minutes per game this year, he's averaging a healthy 11.9 points, 1.1 threes and 1.4 steals.

Danilo Gallinari will undergo his second knee surgery in three weeks.
Gallinari had his meniscus repaired three weeks ago, and now he'll undergo a surgery to repair his torn ACL. Since Gallinari won't have his ACL surgery until June, there is virtually no way he'll be ready for the start of the season and we could be looking at a scenario where the forward is out until around Christmas or potentially the start of 2014. It's a situation fantasy owners need to watch closely during the offseason.
