Brian Roberts' contract option for next season could be determined by Tuesday's NBA draft lottery.
Several mock drafts have the Pelicans eyeing Trey Burke, and the Pelicans have yet to make a determination on Roberts' status with the team for next year. "Right now I'm just trying to see how things play out," he said. "I haven't talked to coach or management about that kind of stuff as of yet. But I'm pretty confident something an be worked out." GM Dell Demps previously said the team was "thrilled" with Roberts' progress.

Brian Roberts started against the Mavericks on Wednesday and had 13 points, three boards, six assists and two 3-pointers in 42 minutes during a 99-87 loss.
He proved to be one of the better backups in the NBA and was able to show what he could do with Greivis Vasquez dealing with an ankle injury this month. GV is in the running for Most Improved Player and Roberts isn't likely to unseat him in the near future.

Brian Roberts had 13 points, three 3-pointers, four rebounds, six assists, one steal and zero turnovers on Sunday, playing 27 minutes off the Hornets' bench.
This makes three excellent games in a row for Roberts, who didn't seem thrown by Greivis Vasquez (ankle) returning to the starting lineup. He's worth plugging into fantasy lineups, with the understanding that New Orleans only has one more game on Wednesday.

Brian Roberts started for injured Greivis Vasquez (ankle) in the Hornets' 96-93 loss to the Clippers on Friday, scoring 15 points on 6-of-13 shooting (including two threes) with six rebounds and 11 assists in 41 minutes.
There is no telling when Vasquez (day-to-day) will return, so if Roberts is floating around on your wire it's time to pick him up unless you're stacked.

Greivis Vasquez (ankle) has started his rehab process.
Vasquez started the work on Monday after requiring surgery, but he's expected to be ready to roll for training camp. We're not very concerned about Vasquez, but it's a situation to monitor during the offseason in the event he suffers a setback.

Eric Gordon (ankle) started his rehab about a month ago.
Gordon is going through a similar rehab process to Greivis Vasquez (ankle), but Gordon is doing his in Los Angeles. "I think he's a couple of weeks out and he's back to normal," Monty Williams said. The Pelicans have to be hoping that Gordon can finally stay healthy for most if not all of the coming season.

Austin Rivers (hand) is now "back to normal," according to Monty Williams.
Rivers was given the OK to ditch his cast previously, and it's good to know Rivers is at 100 percent health well before we get deep into the summer. "He's working out, lifting and doing all the stuff that coaches have him doing," Williams said. Rivers is expected to spend time at both guard spots again in 2013/14.

Anthony Davis (knee) is now 100 percent healthy after missing the final stretch of the regular season with a sprained MCL.
Davis has been fully healthy for about two weeks now. He did not require any kind of surgery and is fully expected to participate in Team USA's mini-camp in July alongside teammate Ryan Andersen. Davis will not participate in summer league, and that's not a huge surprise considering he proved he could play in his first year.

Jason Smith is continuing his rehab from shoulder surgery, but he will not be able to do any basketball work until training camp.
Smith underwent shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum in March, and as a result he will have a challenge to be ready by the time the regular season opens up. Smith's contract only calls for $1 million guaranteed if he's waived before June 30th, but since he's only slated to make $2.5 million next season, it's really a $1.5 million deal, and that seems pretty reasonable for a backup big man of his caliber.
