Kevin Garnett is not expected to need surgery on his foot/ankle.
The Celtics' medical staff thinks Garnett's injury issues will subside with rest, which is the first of three big offseason question marks for KG. The second and third ones, of course, are whether Garnett, who turns 37 on Sunday, will return to play next season and if that will be for the Celtics. It's unlikely Garnett will remain with Boston if Paul Pierce heads elsewhere and Pierce's future with the Celtics appears very tenuous at this point.

Kevin Garnett is considering retirement, but there has been no decision made on his playing future.
Garnett, who turns 37 on Sunday, previously said that his decision to continue to play would be made on a year-to-year basis. It's likely that his playing future is tied to Doc Rivers and Paul Pierce, but we already know that Rivers is returning. Pierce's future is much less certain, and it's not clear if Garnett would return if Pierce moves on. "I don't think I have the answers that Kevin will want," Danny Ainge said. "I'm not ready to answer everything that he will want to know."

Celtics GM Danny Ainge brushed aside recent Kevin Garnett trade rumors as "silly," and a "waste of time to even acknowledge."
Ainge, asked specifically about the rumor Stephen A. Smith seemingly made up earlier in the week that had Garnett, Paul Pierce and Doc Rivers heading to the Clippers, was quick to discount it as rubbish. That's the same category we'd put it in as well, and we'd be stunned if Rivers coached anywhere outside of Boston for the rest of his coaching career. Not to mention, it's pretty foolish to think the Clippers would send Blake Griffin to Boston in an effort to appease Chris Paul.

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge said Thursday he'll reach out to Kevin Garnett next week and he expects KG will play next season.
Between the trade rumors, injuries and the Celtics' struggles as a team, Garnett's been through quite a year. His potential return will be a huge part of Boston's offseason as Ainge attempts to rebuild the Celtics for at least next year and possibly the next five years. If Ainge decides to opt for the latter and blow things up, there's a good chance both KG and Paul Pierce will be playing elsewhere next season. It's going to be a very big and very interesting summer in Boston.

Rajon Rondo could be dangled in trade talks "in case a deal makes sense," according to the Boston Herald.
We've heard Rondo could be traded in the "right deal" for a while now, but Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook or someone of that nature is not walking through the door. The C's will only move Rondo if it's a trade that unquestionably makes the team better, and it's not expected that scenario will be available to Boston. The Boston Herald writes this "nearly annual look into Rondo's trade value has to eventually reach a limit," but we wouldn't expect it to be during the offseason. The Celtics don't even have a true backup in place at point guard.

Jared Sullinger (back) said he resumed light workouts two weeks ago as part of a 10-week rehab program.
Sullinger said he hopes to be 100 percent in time for training camp. Back injuries are tough to overcome and can linger throughout careers, but Sullinger said surgery made sure his injury won't be a recurring issue. That's good news considering Sullinger's back was enough of a concern last summer that some teams "red flagged" him ahead of the draft. We'll wait to see if he's fully recovered and how the Celtics' roster shapes up before determining Sullinger's fantasy value for next season.
