The Suns waived guard Chucky Atkins Monday.
That puts them at 16 players, meaning the final roster spot should come down to either undrafted rookie Matt Janning or rookie Zabian Dowdell.

Veteran PG Chucky Atkins has joined recent workouts with the Suns, in the hopes of being invited to training camp.
Atkins is fading fast and wouldn't be more than a backup no matter where he lands -- in recent seasons he's bounced around between Memphis, Denver, Oklahoma City, and Detroit.

Chucky Atkins was a game-time decision on Friday, and played through his sternum injury for 14 minutes and had three assists without any other statistics.
He literally can't shoot a basketball, which is fairly critical in fantasy basketball, so he should probably be avoided.

Chucky Atkins continues to be limited by a bruised sternum injury he suffered on Jan. 20th.
The injury is making it difficult for him to shoot as evidenced by his two total shot attempts in the past three games. Atkins holds no value but his shots and minutes tend to bite into Rodney Stuckey's upside.

Sidelined
Channing Frye (heart) said he's "95 percent positive" he'll be healthy enough to return to the NBA next season.
Frye has missed the entire season after doctors discovered an enlarged heart during a routine stress exam. Frye admitted there's a chance he may never play again, but he's thinking about joining the Suns on the road in March and April to get used to traveling again. The sweet-shooting big man can't work out but says he takes 200 shots every other day and uses golf and yoga to help keep himself somewhat in shape. Frye has two years left on his contract after this one.

Gortat was hoping to make a one-game cameo, but his conditioning simply isn't there and he doesn't have enough practice time to get right before the regular season finale.
