Broncos hired Alex Gibbs as offensive consultant.
The team did the same with ex-Colts OC Tom Moore last offseason, and he helped install the Peyton Manning offense with Mike McCoy and Adam Gase. Gibbs will be around longer, working with OL coach Dave Magazu to increase Denver's use of zone-run concepts. Gibbs is considered the Godfather of Zone Blocking, as his old Broncos lines paved the way for Terrell Davis and two Super Bowl wins. New Broncos feature back Montee Ball is an adept one-cut runner.

Broncos named incumbent quarterbacks coach Adam Gase their offensive coordinator.
Gase, a 34-year-old with eight years of experience as an NFL assistant, lands the job ahead of more established names such as Ken Whisenhunt and Tom Moore. It's a smart move by John Fox and the Broncos. Gase learned at the foot of departed OC Mike McCoy and spent "countless" hours with Peyton Manning this season. He'll call the plays in 2013, ensuring continuity within an offense that ranked second in points per game and fourth in yards per game this season.

Former Titans consultant Tom Moore said he wants to be an offensive coordinator in 2013.
Moore confirmed that he will not be back in Tennessee. "I'd like to get a job as an offensive coordinator in the National Football League," he said. "I don't know if that is going to transpire or if that is going to happen, but that's what I want to do. I don't want it to be a deep, dark secret." Of course, the obvious connection here is in Denver, where the Broncos just lost OC Mike McCoy to San Diego. Moore, now 74, previously spent 12 seasons in Indianapolis coaching Peyton Manning.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen mentioned Broncos QBs coach Adam Gase, ex-Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt, and Colts QBs coach Clyde Christensen as potential Broncos OC candidates should Mike McCoy get a head-coaching job.
Gase, 34, is in his second season as quarterbacks coach with Denver and is younger than Peyton Manning. Whisenhunt will likely have plenty of options if he doesn't get a head coach job of his own. Christensen called plays for the Colts in the Wild Card round last weekend while Bruce Arians was in the hospital, and he could be an option to reclaim the OC job in Indy should Arians leave.

Coach John Fox indicated the Broncos are being intentionally cautious with Knowshon Moreno in his recovery from an offseason stem-cell procedure on his right knee.
The surgery, which is believed to have taken place either in late January or early February, involved the removal of stem cells from Moreno's pelvis. They were then inserted into his right knee. Four months later, he still can't practice. "He's coming along," Fox said. "We're going to be very cautious. When the doctors give him the full-go go-ahead, he'll be doing everything."

Broncos TE Joel Dreessen underwent arthroscopic surgery to "clean up" his knee.
Coach John Fox termed it "just a little knee procedure, scope, done, just to clean it up." Fox added this would be a good opportunity for backup tight end Julius Thomas, who missed most of his first two seasons with injuries, to get quality reps. Dreessen is expected to return for training camp. He is Denver's primary in-line and blocking tight end, ahead of "move" TE Jacob Tamme.
