Broncos signed S Mike Adams, formerly of the Browns, to a two-year contract.
Adams started all 16 games at free safety last season, excelling in coverage for the Browns. He confirmed he's ticketed for the same position in Denver, which bodes poorly for 2011 second-rounder Rahim Moore, whose natural position is free. Quinton Carter may have the edge for the strong safety job.

Free agent S Mike Adams has scheduled a visit with the Broncos.
Adams tweeted that he's heading to the airport for a flight to Denver. Searching for a strong safety to replace Brian Dawkins, the Broncos hosted Brandon Meriweather Tuesday night.

Free agent safety Mike Adams has received interest from four teams since free agency started.
Interest is a lot different than "serious interest" or a contract offer. The Browns want to keep Adams, a 16-game starter last year. Usama Young would be the in-house candidate to replace Adams if the free safety leaves.

In addition to CB Dimitri Patterson, Browns GM Tom Heckert hopes to re-sign FS Mike Adams.
A 16-game starter for the first time in his eight-year career, Adams recorded 41 tackles, six passes defensed, and three picks last season while playing more snaps than any Browns safety. He said in December that he hopes to be back in Cleveland.

The Denver Post expects the Broncos to release one of Knowshon Moreno or Willis McGahee.
It's painfully obvious one of Moreno and McGahee are on the way out following the selection of Montee Ball, and McGahee is the far likelier candidate. Although Moreno barely survived final cuts last summer, he's both far younger and cheaper than McGahee, who's scheduled to make $2.5 million in his age-32 campaign. Going on 26, Moreno will make $1.7 million in the final year of his rookie contract. Moreno's competent play down the stretch last season likely bought him another year in Denver.
