Miller tore his ACL, MCL and PCL 3 1/2 months ago. It's a good sign that he's off crutches, but he's limited to weightlifting work for now and remains a strong bet to start the year on the PUP list. The Steelers have been linked to Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert with the No. 17 overall pick in next week's draft.

The Steelers are hoping to know before April's draft what Heath Miller (knee surgery) can provide this season.
Miller completely blew out his knee in Week 16, tearing his ACL, MCL and PCL. The Steelers should be preparing as if he'll start this season on PUP and consider it a bonus if he doesn't. Miller will be 31 in October and already lacked both long speed and lateral quickness. With only Matt Spaeth and David Paulson behind him on the depth chart, the Steelers could very well draft a tight end.

Steelers GM Kevin Colbert acknowledged at the Combine that he doesn't know when Heath Miller (ACL, MCL, PCL tears) will play again.
Miller underwent ACL and MCL surgery in his right knee on January 2. "In my mind, when you have an ACL late in the year, I still don't believe a player is 100 percent until a year is up," Colbert said. "They may play before that, but ... if you get something 100 percent before a year, it's a bonus. We'll know more when we get to April." Despite a career-best 2012 season under first-year coordinator Todd Haley, Miller will barely be draft-able in 2013 fantasy leagues.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Steelers don't yet have a concrete idea of when Heath Miller (knee surgery) will be ready to return.
Miller tore his ACL, MCL and PCL in Week 16. Miller's ACL and MCL both required surgery. Miller's teammate Rashard Mendenhall was able to avoid the PUP list last season after shredding his knee in Week 17 2011, but the PUP is still Miller's best bet to begin the year. With Miller now on the wrong side of 30 in addition to rehabbing his knee, tight end could be a priority for Pittsburgh in the draft.
