The Bills plan to play Manny Lawson at strong-side linebacker.
Strong-side linebackers often match up with tight ends in pass coverage, and the Bills are hoping Lawson can be their answer for division rival Rob Gronkowski. Lawson goes 6-foot-6, 240 and ran a 4.43 forty time coming out of NC State.

Bills agreed to terms on a four-year contract with OLB Manny Lawson, formerly of the Bengals.
Lawson was a part-time player in Cincy as he fell behind Vontaze Burfict and Emmanuel Lamur. In Buffalo, he shouldn't have trouble pushing for snaps as a strong-side pass rusher. Lawson has the versatility to play in multiple schemes.

The Cincinnati Enquirer expects the Bengals to move on from free agent SLB Manny Lawson.
Going on 29, Lawson was a part-time player last season, and wasn't terribly productive when he did take the field. With the emergence of Vontaze Burfict and Emmanuel Lamur, the Bengals shouldn't hesitate to let Lawson walk.

Bengals DC Mike Zimmer plans to use recently re-signed SLB Manny Lawson more as a pass rusher in 2012.
Lawson was used almost exclusively in run support and coverage his first season in Cincinnati. "He moved to essentially a different position with us, playing outside in a 4-3 (scheme) after being in a 3-4, and he kept getting better as the year went on," Zimmer said. "He was very good against the run and in coverage, and this year I think we can take better advantage of him as a pass rusher." Lawson has 16.5 sacks in 80 career games.

Chandler is almost certainly limited to individual drills, but it's another positive step in his impressive recovery. Just like Adrian Peterson in 2011, Chandler tore up his knee in Week 16. It's looking more realistic that the red-zone threat will be ready for Week 1.

Bills re-signed exclusive rights free agent TE Mike Caussin to a one-year, $630,000 contract.
Caussin missed the entire 2012 season as he recovered from a torn ACL. Assuming he makes the roster, Cuassin will provide special teams help and insurance at tight end with Scott Chandler now dealing with an ACL tear of his own.
