WGR 550 reports WR/KR/QB Brad Smith is "firmly atop" the list of potential cap casualties for the Bills.
Smith, 29, has two years left on a four-year, $15 million contract, and the Bills can save $2.75 million against the cap by releasing him. Buffalo used day-two picks on Robert Woods and Marquise Goodwin, and signed top UDFA Da'Rick Rogers behind Stevie Johnson and T.J. Graham. Smith doesn't have much of a role anymore. Beat writer Joe Buscaglia also names RT Erik Pears, K Rian Lindell, QB Tarvaris Jackson, and DE Mark Anderson as release candidates.

Bills WR/QB Brad Smith caught two passes for 49 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Patriots.
We all know the drill on Smith by now. While he has some talent and can play multiple offensive and special teams roles, he's never a big enough part of Chan Gailey's week-to-week game plan to be given serious fantasy-start consideration. Smith entered Week 4 with five touches for 27 total yards. Leave him on the waiver wire heading to Week 5 against San Francisco.

The Bills are incorporating more passing plays for Brad Smith in their Wildcat package.
We suspect Smith's primary role will be on special teams, but the Bills plan to get him involved in spread/option packages, and at wide receiver. Smith saw 403 offensive snaps last season, drawing 41 targets.

Coach Chan Gailey said the Bills have ''expanded their plans'' for Brad Smith in the team's Wildcat package.
Smith has worked almost exclusively at quarterback during OTAs, but Gailey confirmed the Bills will continue to use him at wide receiver and in gadget-type roles. In addition to special teams, Smith projects as the Bills' third quarterback and fifth receiver.

Bills TE Scott Chandler is sitting out full-squad OTAs while continuing to rehab his torn left ACL.
Chandler suffered the injury on December 23 and his training camp status is in question. The 28-year-old's role in new coach Doug Marrone's offense is also uncertain, although Buffalo did little to upgrade tight end other than draft Chris Gragg in the seventh round. Chandler's 2013 fantasy outlook is bleak.

Bills re-signed exclusive rights free agent TE Mike Caussin to a one-year, $630,000 contract.
Caussin missed the entire 2012 season as he recovered from a torn ACL. Assuming he makes the roster, Cuassin will provide special teams help and insurance at tight end with Scott Chandler now dealing with an ACL tear of his own.
