Ravens coach John Harbaugh says OLB Elvis Dumervil is "emerging as a leader" in OTAs.
Baltimore finds itself without an incumbent defensive leader for the first time in over a decade with Ray Lewis retiring and Ed Reed signing with Houston. Harbaugh said he can envision players like Dumervil already filling that role. In addition to his leadership, Dumervil gives the Ravens an extremely potent pass rusher to bookend Terrell Suggs. After finishing 17th in total defense last season, we expect Baltimore to reenter the top ten in 2013.

Ravens agreed to terms with DE/OLB Elvis Dumervil, formerly of the Broncos, on a five-year contract worth up to $35 million.
Just as some observers began writing off the reigning Super Bowl champs, GM Ozzie Newsome lands -- easily -- the top free agent left on the market. Dumervil will return to 3-4 outside linebacker in Baltimore. He enjoyed his career-best season as a 3-4 rush 'backer in Denver, leading the NFL with 17 sacks in 2009. Don "Wink" Martindale was on Denver's staff during that season and is now the Ravens' linebackers coach. Dumervil, 29, will team with Terrell Suggs to give Baltimore the premier outside-edge rusher duo in football, regardless of scheme.

The Denver Post reports that free agent Elvis Dumervil is expected to wait at least one more day before deciding between the Broncos and Ravens.
In other words, he won't be signing with the Dolphins. Dumervil's "preference" is to re-sign with the Broncos, but the Ravens remain interested. He'll likely wait for Osi Umenyiora's deal with the Falcons to be finalized before making his decision.

The Denver Post reports the Dolphins have "jumped into discussions" for free agent Elvis Dumervil.
Dumervil has been weighing offers from the Broncos and Ravens. The Dolphins have more salary cap room than both of those clubs, though Denver beat writer Mike Klis acknowledges that the extent of Miami's Dumervil interest is "unclear." Dumervil, 29, is the premier free agent remaining on the open market.

A deep reserve, Williams appeared in just 11 games on special teams this season, and failed to play a snap on offense. The second-year undrafted free agent will have to claw for a roster spot in 2013.
