Bills.com confirms DT Kyle Williams is recovering from surgery on his right Achilles' tendon.
Williams had left Achilles' surgery last year. While he avoided a complete rupture of the right Achilles' -- it was "frayed" -- he's yet to be medically cleared to participate in any workouts. Last year's rehab of a similar injury sidelined Williams for five months. Williams remained highly effective, grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 3 defensive tackle behind Geno Atkins and Gerald McCoy. The buildup of surgeries is still a concern.

Bills DT Kyle Williams is likely to undergo Achilles' tendon surgery this offseason.
Williams underwent Achilles' surgery on his left foot last year. This time, the issue is on his right side. The good news is that there isn't a complete rupture, meaning his timetable will be in the six month range. Williams played through the injury in the final 10 games of the season, finishing with 46 tackles and a career-high five sacks.

Bills DTs Kyle Williams (questionable, ankle) and Spencer Johnson (questionable, ankle) are both expected to play in Week 7.
Both players were limited during practice this week but will suit up against the Titans and Chris Johnson. After grading out as Pro Football Focus' No. 1 defensive tackle in 2011, Williams comes in at No. 7 in the rankings so far in 2012. Also listed as questionable for Buffalo's defense is CB Terrence McGee (knee) and Da'Norris Searcy (ankle).

Bills DT Kyle Williams had another strong outing in Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers.
WGR 550 Buffalo reporter Joe Buscaglia noted Williams' performance as "imposing his will on every play," "first off the line every time," and "just ridiculous." It's a good sign for Williams, who may not even be back to 100-percent health after undergoing foot surgery last season. Williams was Pro Football Focus' top-rated defensive tackle in 2010.

Bills TE Scott Chandler is sitting out full-squad OTAs while continuing to rehab his torn left ACL.
Chandler suffered the injury on December 23 and his training camp status is in question. The 28-year-old's role in new coach Doug Marrone's offense is also uncertain, although Buffalo did little to upgrade tight end other than draft Chris Gragg in the seventh round. Chandler's 2013 fantasy outlook is bleak.

Bills re-signed exclusive rights free agent TE Mike Caussin to a one-year, $630,000 contract.
Caussin missed the entire 2012 season as he recovered from a torn ACL. Assuming he makes the roster, Cuassin will provide special teams help and insurance at tight end with Scott Chandler now dealing with an ACL tear of his own.
