Seahawks placed WR Isaiah Stanback (hamstring) on injured reserve, ending his season.
This is the second consecutive season Stanback has landed on injured reserve before Week 1. A fourth-round pick of the Cowboys in 2007, he has tallied five catches for 46 yards in 16 career games.

Seahawks waived/injured WR Isaiah Stanback.
He'll go on injured reserve after clearing waivers. Stanback, who tore his Achilles' tendon on Saturday, has five receptions through three seasons in the NFL. The converted quarterback doesn't have a future in the league.

Seahawks WR/QB Isaiah Stanback was carted off the field Saturday with what was later diagnosed as a torn Achilles' tendon.
The snakebitten Stanback was trying to turn his career around with his hometown team after spending most of last season on the Pats' practice squad. After starting his career with shin splints and a foot injury back in 2007, Stanback has now sustained multiple shoulder injuries and a meniscus tear in his knee in addition to the torn Achilles'. The once-promising combo prospect's career is now in jeopardy.

Seahawks claimed WR/QB Isaiah Stanback off waivers from the Patriots.
Stanback alternated between quarterback and receiver with the Pats last year. The Seahawks will likely keep him at the latter, but he'll have to make up ground on the team's other reclamation projects to land a spot on the roster.

Undrafted Jaguars QB Jordan Rodgers will be sidelined until training camp after undergoing sports-hernia surgery.
Aaron's younger brother, Rodgers is competing with fellow undrafted QB Matt Scott for No. 3 duties. This gives the more-talented Scott another leg up in a competition the Jaguars would likely prefer him to win.

Maurice Jones-Drew (foot) said his goal is to resume full-scale workouts in the month ahead of training camp.
Jones-Drew didn't practice with the Jags during Monday's OTAs. Instead, he ran 30-yard dashes at three-quarters speed. "Lately, it's been one day on, a day off, two days on, a day off — it's part of the process," he said. "I'm closer than I think. I just want to take my time and make sure we do it the right way." Rehab from Lisfranc surgery is nothing to be brushed off lightly. We'll be watching MJD's progress closely as he enters a contract year.

Coach Gus Bradley said he's giving suspended WR Justin Blackmon a clean slate.
Blackmon has two DUI arrests and a four-game substance-abuse violation on his resume since 2010. But none of that occurred while Bradley was in contact with the 2012 No. 5 overall pick. The pair is having regular conversations as Blackmon tries to stabilize his life and career. "He's never done anything wrong with me. It'd be different if I was talking to him and I didn't feel like we were connecting at all. I do feel a connection," Bradley said.

During his first official practice with the Jaguars, Brackett sustained a serious knee injury. The pass-catching tight end will need to regain full speed and burst before he can hope for a 2013 roster spot. The Jags re-signed Colin Cloherty to take Brackett's roster spot.
