Redskins LG Kory Lichtensteiger (knee, ankle) is 100 percent healthy.
Lichtensteiger started all 16 games last season, but he was coming back from a torn ACL and MCL while also dealing with a high-ankle sprain at the end of the year. The 28-year-old says the knee never felt completely right in 2012, but he played well enough to earn a five-year contract last month.

Redskins agreed to terms with LG Kory Lichtensteiger on a five-year contract.
28-year-old Lichtensteiger was among the least effective left guards in football last season, but was coming back from a torn right ACL and MCL. While the Redskins expect him to be better in 2013, he'll have to hold off Josh LeRibeus.

Free agent LG Kory Lichtensteiger would welcome a return to the Redskins.
Lichtensteiger started all 17 games in 2012. Coach Mike Shanahan recently called him the team's best run blocker, but Pro Football Focus graded Lichtensteiger out as 81-of-81 among qualifying guards in the category. Washington has 2012 third-rounder Josh LeRibeus ready to step in at left guard.

Redskins LG Kory Lichtensteiger revealed that his sprain was of the high-ankle variety.
Lichtensteiger expects the injury to heal in a month without surgery. Best suited to a zone-blocking scheme, the impending free agent hopes to re-sign with the Redskins.

Robert Griffin III
Sidelined
Redskins GM Bruce Allen conceded it's "too early to tell" whether Robert Griffin III (ACL, LCL surgery) will be ready on the first day of training camp.
"He is doing everything that the doctors want him to do," said Allen. "... But it’s really too premature to speculate on where his medical condition is until we give him a physical when training camp starts July 25." Allen said RG3 is able to do "a lot of drill work on his own." Expect Griffin to open training camp on active/PUP.

Sidelined
CSN Washington believes Roy Helu and No. 154 pick RB Chris Thompson are competing for the same roster spot.
The same is true of Evan Royster and No. 228 pick Jawan Jamison. Thompson and Helu are both change-of-pace type runners, while Royster and Jamison rely more on vision and power. Jamison is the longest shot of the four, but Helu's roster spot will very much be in danger if he doesn't report to camp 100 percent healthy and stay 100 percent healthy.

Chris Thompson
Sidelined
Redskins agreed to terms with No. 154 overall pick RB Chris Thompson on a four-year contract.
Recovering from an October ACL tear, Thompson is questionable for the beginning of training camp. Thompson is a thimble of a football player at 5-foot-7, 192 pounds, but coach Mike Shanahan believes he would have been a first- or second-round pick if not for his injury. That's because of his electric speed. Thompson could eventually make noise as a scat/third-down back, but will most likely be "redshirted" this season.

Redskins FB Dorson Boyce (shoulder) could be cleared for contact this week.
Boyce tore his labrum in the preseason finale last year. The 24-year-old rushed ten times for 44 yards in exhibition action last season. He could compete for a special teams role or a spot on the practice squad.

Pierre Garcon
Sidelined
Pierre Garcon (foot) isn't sure if he'll be 100 percent healthy for 2013.
"I’ll be healthy enough to play," Garcon said Thursday on NFL Network. "I can’t say I’ll be 100 percent, but I’ll be back out there helping the team in any way possible." Garcon isn't sure if he'll go full steam during OTAs. Garcon played through the injury in 2012, but it's a concern he's already resigned to the possibility of playing at less than 100 percent for the second consecutive season. Garcon could eventually require surgery, but has thus far avoided it because there's no guarantee it will correct the issue.

Josh Morgan had ligaments in each of his hands repaired after the season.
Tack this issue on top of ongoing concerns surrounding Morgan's right leg issues. After appearing to lack burst last season, he had surgery to remove a plate and seven screws from his right ankle in January. Morgan may not be ready for OTAs.

Speaking in a Wednesday presser, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said Fred Davis (Achilles) has made "strides," but the team won't know how far he's progressed before OTAs.
Davis is six months removed from the Achilles' tear, and expects to be fully cleared by June. Despite Davis' bullish outlook, he's a strong candidate to begin camp on active/PUP, with a stint on reserve/PUP possible to begin the year.

Redskins third-round TE Jordan Reed did not participate in rookie minicamp due to a bone bruise in his knee and a pulled quad.
Reed, the 85th pick in the draft, pulled a quad, which resulted in knee soreness. The Redskins are "hopeful" he'll be able to get back to action in a "couple weeks." Washington starts OTAs on May 20, and Reed should be on the field.
