Bears re-signed CB Zackary Bowman to a one-year contract.
A fifth-round pick out of Nebraska in 2008, Bowman has never developed into a reliable cover corner, but he's carved out a legitimate career on special teams. The 28-year-old racked up 11 tackles across 11 games in Chicago last season.

Vikings waived CB Zackary Bowman and OT Patrick Brown.
Coming off a rough 2011 for the Bears, Bowman was made expendable after the Vikings acquired A.J. Jefferson from the Cardinals. Bowman will look to latch on elsewhere as a down-ballot corner and special teamer.

Vikings CB Zackary Bowman worked mostly with the third team during minicamps and OTAs.
After falling out of favor in Chicago last season, Bowman is squarely on Minnesota's roster bubble. The four-year veteran will have to prove he can contribute on special teams and hold his own in camp against third-round CB Josh Robinson.

Vikings CB Zackary Bowman's one-year deal is worth just $615,000, and does not include a signing bonus.
It's flier money, and a sign that Bowman isn't assured of a roster spot. He made only one start for the Bears in 2011, playing just 109 snaps on defense. If everything goes right for the Vikings, Bowman won't be higher than fourth on the depth chart if he makes the team.

Brandon Marshall (hip surgery) is not participating in this week's OTAs, as expected.
Marshall underwent a scope in January and is not quite at 100 percent yet. Although it's his third procedure on the troublesome joint, no one around the Bears appears concerned. Marshall has missed just five games in his seven-year career and is coming off a sparkling 118/1508/11 campaign.
