The Seahawks are rotating quarterbacks with the first-team offense day by day during Organized Team Activities.
Tarvaris Jackson got the reps on Tuesday, Matt Flynn took the lion's share on Wednesday, and Thursday was rookie Russell Wilson's time to shine. There won't be enough reps to go around by late summer, so either Wilson or Jackson will be weeded out behind Flynn. Appearing on

Friday, NBC's Ross Tucker called "three-way QB battle" a sham. "Please," said Tucker. "I mean, Matt Flynn's gonna start the opener. They gave him $10 million guaranteed."

Despite Russell Wilson's head-turning rookie minicamp performance, ESPN Seattle's Brock Huard still believes the Seahawks' starting quarterback job is "Matt Flynn's to lose."
We feel the same way, though Wilson is an easy player to root for in the impending training camp battle. Huard, who attended Seahawks rookie camp, noted that Flynn is incredibly sound fundamentally, and the heavy favorite to start on Opening Day. "Tarvaris Jackson had better be careful," Huard added. "Ideal world, Matt Flynn's the guy to lead and Russell Wilson's right behind."

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll reiterated that he does not plan to name a starting quarterback quickly.
Especially after throwing rookie Russell Wilson into the camp battle, the Seahawks have a lot of self-scouting to do in the coming months. "It's going to take us a long time to do this," Carroll said. "It's going to be frustrating for you (reporters). ... I’m just going to be more patient than you can imagine as we go through this process and we’ll just figure it out when we do."

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has "no timeline" for deciding on a starting quarterback.
"The format is really just to do everything I can to organize it and orchestrate so that they get a legit shot at showing what they can do," Carroll said of the Matt Flynn-Tarvaris Jackson battle. Obsessed with the notion of players "competing" for jobs, Carroll may make Flynn and Jackson duke it out for most of camp before naming a starter. Flynn is the heavy favorite, while Jackson is a release candidate following Seattle's third-round selection of Russell Wilson.

Seahawks WRs Sidney Rice (shoulder surgeries) and Kris Durham (shoulder surgery) ran routes during Thursday's OTA workout.
Both players, along with sixth-round S Winston Guy, wore red non-contact jerseys as a precaution. The optimistic Seahawks expect Rice to be the healthiest he's ever been by the time training camp rolls around. As far as we're concerned, the three concussions in a 12-month span are every bit as worrisome as Rice's twin shoulder surgeries.

Seahawks WR Kris Durham, placed on injured reserve this week, underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder.
So there's no truth to the rumor that Durham injured his shoulder when the Seahawks twisted his arm to go on I.R. The 2011 fourth-rounder is facing a six-month recovery timetable, leaving him questionable for an important round of OTAs next spring.

Tate was absent from Thursday's practice, though the severity of the injury is unclear. Tate is expected to compete for the starting job opposite Sidney Rice this summer.

Rice's absence was expected, but there was an outside chance Williams would participate. Recovering from a broken left ankle and fibula, Williams will have to be 100 percent healthy to even be in the mix for a roster spot in training camp.
