ESPN's Matt Williamson believes the Chargers have "the worst left tackle situation in the NFL."
Williamson is former scout for the Browns. Here's his take on King Dunlap, who is currently penciled in as the Chargers' starter: "He has great size, but he is heavy-footed and can really struggle to play low enough due to his extreme height. At best, he is a right tackle athlete and not suited to playing on the left side." The Chargers also lost their top guard, Louis Vasquez, in free agency. We're not sure how Philip Rivers sleeps at night.

The Union-Tribune San Diego's Kevin Acee expects the Chargers to begin the season with King Dunlap at left tackle.
Acee believes journeyman Kevin Haslam could "perhaps" get a shot, but doesn't consider Mike Harris a candidate on the blindside after he got brutalized in place of Jared Gaither last season. A replacement-level talent, Dunlap has made just 19 starts in 52 career appearances. It's probably going to be another long year for declining veteran Philip Rivers.

Chargers coach Mike McCoy declined to name King Dunlap his starting left tackle.
The Jared Gaither meltdown and release has left the Chargers dreadfully thin on Philip Rivers' blind side. Dunlap is the best in-house candidate right now, but he's a backup-caliber talent. "We're going to bring in some other guys over time and get competition together," McCoy conceded. The Chargers could target Oklahoma LT Lane Johnson with the No. 11 overall pick in the draft.

Chargers agreed to terms with OT King Dunlap, formerly of the Eagles.
Dunlap is not the answer to the Chargers' blindside woes. He was routinely beaten as a pass protector while in Philadelphia, but he's much better depth than undrafted free agent Michael Harris provided in 2012.

Chargers WR Vincent Brown said his ankle is "100 percent."
Brown fractured his ankle last August. The Chargers are taking it easy on him during OTAs, but Brown expects to be full-go for training camp. Malcom Floyd and Danario Alexander are running with the first team, but both Brown and rookie Keenan Allen could jump ahead of Floyd in due time. San Diego was planning to "feature" Brown last season, although there's now a new regime in town.
