Ravens ILB Jameel McClain (neck, back) has no restrictions on his exercise regimen.
McClain's path back to the playing field continues following a scary spine injury last December. "I'm doing good, I'm doing great," he said. "I'm running around full speed, working out, lifting weights with no problems, nothing on my end. I can do everything." McClain is cautiously optimistic that he'll be cleared to resume playing football before this season. The Ravens could certainly use him after losing Ray Lewis to retirement and Dannell Ellerbe in free agency.

Ravens ILB Jameel McClain (neck/back) could "possibly" be ready for training camp.
McClain suffered a spinal cord contusion against the Redskins last December, landing him on injured reserve. No surgery was required, but the location and severity of the injury initially clouded his future. Although McClain has yet to be medically cleared, coach John Harbaugh remains positive saying "We don't know for sure, but I'm approaching it as if Jameel is going to be out there." McClain started 13 games, making 79 tackles last season.

McClain's injury is "resolving itself." It's great news after he suffered a scary spinal cord contusion in Week 14 and was quickly ruled out for the season. The Ravens are counting on McClain to step in as a starting inside linebacker with Ray Lewis retired.

Ravens ILB Jameel McClain's (spinal cord contusion) outlook to resume playing football in 2013 is "positive."
"All is progressing well with Jameel," one source told The Baltimore Sun. "The injury requires rest." At his year-ending presser, coach John Harbaugh said the organization was "very optimistic" about McClain returning, and the linebacker appears to still be on that track. McClain proved to be an above-average pass rusher before going on injured reserve in Week 15.

Ravens assistant GM Eric DeCosta said the team is "very excited" about Jacoby Jones as a receiver this season.
"We're very excited about Jacoby and the progress he made throughout last season," DeCosta said. "We think we've got some very good young players that can step up and contribute. Deonte Thompson isn't a heralded name, but a guy we think is going to be a good player. We're excited about Tandon Doss. David Reed has had a lot of injuries. He's flashed in practice and made plays." Add Tommy Streeter to the list of young receivers who could see a bigger role in 2013. DeCosta also wouldn't rule out the Ravens signing a veteran receiver.

Ravens placed WR LaQuan Williams on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, ending his season.
A deep reserve, Williams appeared in just 11 games on special teams this season, and failed to play a snap on offense. The second-year undrafted free agent will have to claw for a roster spot in 2013.
