Chargers signed CB Derek Cox, formerly of the Jaguars, to a four-year, $20 million contract.
The deal includes $10.25 million guaranteed. One of the better young cover corners in football, Cox signed with the Bolts before making a scheduled trip to New Orleans. He was drawing interest from all around the league. Cox has picked off four passes in three of his first four NFL campaigns, but has also missed three or more games each of the past three seasons. He should specialize in press coverage in DC John Pagano's system.

The Jaguars have dropped out of the running for free agent CB Derek Cox.
Cox may wind up deciding between the Saints and Chargers; he's visiting New Orleans on Thursday and San Diego on Friday. Cox, 26, is one of the better young corners on the market. He's likely eyeing a deal like Chris Houston's.

Free agent CB Derek Cox has lined up visits with the Saints and Chargers.
It's the first time he's been linked to the Saints, who will host Cox on Thursday. Cox is also expected to draw interest from the Redskins, and hasn't been ruled out in Jacksonville.

The Tampa Bay Times reports free agent CB Derek Cox is "almost a lock" to sign somewhere other than Tampa.
The Tampa Tribune reports the Bucs are "still kicking (Cox's) tires," but it sounds like he's heading elsewhere. The Redskins and Chargers are both expected to make runs at the Jaguar, while Jacksonville is still in the mix.

Chargers WR Vincent Brown said his ankle is "100 percent."
Brown fractured his ankle last August. The Chargers are taking it easy on him during OTAs, but Brown expects to be full-go for training camp. Malcom Floyd and Danario Alexander are running with the first team, but both Brown and rookie Keenan Allen could jump ahead of Floyd in due time. San Diego was planning to "feature" Brown last season, although there's now a new regime in town.
