3/12/2013: Signed a five-year, $60 million contract. The deal contains $30 million guaranteed -- an $11 million signing bonus, each of Wallace's first two base salaries, and $3 million of his third-year salary. Wallace is eligible for annual workout bonuses of $50,000. Mike Wallace's five-year, $60 million contract includes an $11 million signing bonus and $37.85 million over the first three seasons.
Wallace has $27 million fully guaranteed -- the signing bonus, a $1 million base salary in 2013, and all of his $15 million base salary in 2014. Per the Palm Beach Post's Ben Volin, Wallace's $9.85 million base salary for 2015 becomes fully guaranteed if he's on the Dolphins' roster as of the fifth day of the new league year in 2014, so it's essentially guaranteed as well. Wallace has non-guaranteed base salaries of $11.45 million in 2016 and 2017.

Updating a previous item, Mike Wallace's Dolphins contract is for $60 million over five years.
ESPN reported Tuesday that Wallace received $65 million, but that number may have been a bit agent inflated. While it's likely Wallace can earn an additional $5 million in incentives, the contract has a $12 million annual base value. It still makes Wallace the league's third highest paid receiver behind Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald. Wallace received $30 million guaranteed.

Dolphins agreed to terms with WR Mike Wallace on a five-year, $65 million contract that includes $30 million guaranteed.
They whiffed on Harbaugh, Peyton, and Fisher, but they got Wallace. Still just 26 years old -- he'll turn 27 in August -- Wallace owns a career yards per catch average of 17.2 with 32 touchdowns across four seasons. While Wallace's critics will knock him as a straight-line deep threat, he gets into the end zone and that happens to be pretty important in the NFL. Although we don't love the fit for Wallace's fantasy value, the Dolphins can now give Ryan Tannehill a formidable receiver corps. Wallace is No. 1, Brian Hartline is No. 2, and slot man Davone Bess No. 3 with Rishard Matthews flashing the ability to be a capable No. 4.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Dolphins are negotiating a five-year contract with free agent Mike Wallace.
Schefter describes the deal as "very, very likely to get done." So we may not see the Vikings jump into the Wallace sweepstakes after all. Schefter reported that this is a "match waiting to happen," and the money will be "well north" of $10 million per year. Appearing on

Tuesday, Schefter also confirmed that the Dolphins are in hot pursuit of free agent TE Jared Cook.

Daniel Thomas believes he's a legitimate contender for the Dolphins' starting running back job.
Thomas must not be watching much of his own film. "I don’t know why (Lamar Miller) would have the inside track," Thomas said incredulously Tuesday. "It’s an open competition. Everybody has a fair shot. The best player is going to get the job. Nobody has a leg up." Thomas does admit he's been "inconsistent" since being the No. 62 overall pick of the 2011 draft. All signs suggest the Dolphins want and expect Miller to be their No. 1 back.
