Lewis is eligible for annual $50,000 workout bonuses throughout the contract's life. Saints signed CB Keenan Lewis to a five-year, $26 million contract with $11 million guaranteed.
Lewis, 27 in May, really came on as a 16-game starter in Dick LeBeau's Steelers defense last year, recording 71 tackles and a league-high 23 pass breakups. His ball skills (one career INT) leave a lot to be desired, but 6-foot, 208-pound Lewis could be a poor man's Brandon Carr under Rob Ryan. He's big, effective in zone, physical enough to play press man, and can move around. Expect Patrick Robinson to be demoted as Lewis starts opposite Jabari Greer.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Saints and free agent CB Keenan Lewis are "close" to a deal that could be finished on Thursday.
Lewis made the trip down to New Orleans for a visit on Wednesday. The soon-to-be 27-year-old played a lot of zone in Pittsburgh, but Saints DC Rob Ryan likes to play man. Lewis has good size at 6-foot and 208 pounds, so he can handle it. He and Jabari Greer would make a nice outside corner duo.

Free agent CB Keenan Lewis will visit the Saints.
Along with much of the cornerback market, Lewis has yet to be the subject of serious buzz as Aqib Talib, Brent Grimes, and Sean Smith all remain unsigned. Lewis was a zone corner in Pittsburgh, though we suspect he'd play plenty of man in Rob Ryan's mixed-coverage defense. Lewis turns 27 years old this May.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette says re-signing free agent CB Keenan Lewis is beginning to look "difficult" to do.
"Maybe they will pull a rabbit out of their hat," writes Ed Bouchette. We wouldn't bank on it. The Steelers set themselves up to lose Lewis by signing William Gay last weekend. Ike Taylor and Cortez Allen are currently slated to be on the outside. Lewis will draw interest, and a team to watch is the Browns.

Saints coach Sean Payton promises the looming contract showdown with Jimmy Graham will have no effect on where Graham lines up in 2013.
Graham, entering a contract year, is going to want to be paid as a receiver whether it's on a long-term deal or franchise tag. He could command upwards of $12 million annually. "We're going to put people in different spots all the time to get them open," said Payton. "Whatever we have to do is not going to be dictated by the interpretation of some rule. We're just going to try to win."
