Dolphins agreed to terms with OG Lance Louis, formerly of the Bears, on a one-year contract.
It's a strong signing for the free-spending Fins, and could indicate RG John Jerry's time in the starting lineup — or perhaps with the team — is through. Save for Brandon Moore, Louis was the top guard still on the market. Louis is recovering from a torn left ACL, but is expected to be ready for camp. With the interior line now set, Miami needs to figure out what it's going to do at tackle.

Free agent OG Lance Louis is visiting an unidentified team on Wednesday night.
The Bears have wanted Louis back, but he's one of the top young guards on the market with Andy Levitre gone to Nashville and Louis Vasquez in Denver. Best available guards, per Nick Mensio's rankings: 1) Brandon Moore 2) Louis 3) Willie Colon 4) Kevin Boothe 5) Eben Britton 6) Jake Scott 7) Geoff Schwartz.

Bears GM Phil Emery said he is pleased with free agent RG Lance Louis' progress off ACL surgery.
It's significantly easier for an interior lineman to regain full effectiveness off an ACL tear. Louis is expected to be ready for camp and could very well be back with the Bears. His agent is scheduled to sit down with Emery at the Combine.

CSN Chicago expects the Bears to "work hard" to re-sign impending free agent RG Lance Louis.
Louis has started 24 games over the last two seasons, but he tore his left ACL in late November. His recovery has recently been described as "on schedule." Louis is a solid pass blocker, but he gets pushed around easily in the run game. The two sides should be able to hammer out a deal.

Daniel Thomas believes he's a legitimate contender for the Dolphins' starting running back job.
Thomas must not be watching much of his own film. "I don’t know why (Lamar Miller) would have the inside track," Thomas said incredulously Tuesday. "It’s an open competition. Everybody has a fair shot. The best player is going to get the job. Nobody has a leg up." Thomas does admit he's been "inconsistent" since being the No. 62 overall pick of the 2011 draft. All signs suggest the Dolphins want and expect Miller to be their No. 1 back.
