Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey (knee) is expected back for Sunday's game against the Redskins.
Doug Legursky filled in admirably on Sunday night as the Steelers racked up 431 total yards of offense against the Bengals. But Pouncey represents a major upgrade for Ben Roethlisberger and the running game. He was a first-team All-Pro selection last year.

According to CBS' Jason La Canfora, Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey (knee) will not play in Sunday night's game against the Bengals.
Pouncey isn't quite ready to go after spraining his MCL in last Thursday's loss to the Titans. Doug Legursky will draw the start at center, representing a major downgrade in both run blocking and pass protection. The Steelers are really banged up for this one with Pouncey, Rashard Mendenhall (Achilles), Isaac Redman (ankle), Troy Polamalu (calf) and T Marcus Gilbert (ankle) all sidelined.

Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey (knee) is hoping to play this week after returning to a limited practice on Thursday.
"It feels great so far," Pouncey said. "I think the (knee) brace and the tape job helped me a lot today. If I feel good (Friday) morning, I think I'll have a good chance of playing Sunday." Pouncey could barely walk on Monday.

Steelers C Maurkice Pouncey (knee, right MCL sprain) is "improving slowly" but is taking it "day by day."
Pouncey was forced out of Thursday night's Week 6 loss to the Titans on the first offensive play. The injury was initially reported as day-to-day, but Pouncey is very unlikely to play in Week 7. "It is going to take a couple weeks before it gets all the way healthy," Pouncey said. "I want to get out there as much as the next guy, but I don't want to rush it back and have a setback." Doug Legursky should draw the start against the Bengals on NBC's Sunday Night Football.

Heath Miller (torn ACL) remains without a timetable for a return, but believes "there’s a chance" he'll be ready for Week 1.
"I’m running now. I’m doing everything," Miller said. "I’m not at full speed, but I’ve been able to do everything that they’ve asked me to do. So, I’m pleased and encouraged. It’s been a long process. ... But I’m going to keep taking it one day at a time and get better every day." The Steelers didn't draft a tight end, so they're clearly counting on Miller contributing in 2013. He's too risky to count on as a low-end TE1 for fantasy purposes, however.
