Coach Dennis Allen says moving LE Lamarr Houston to the 3-technique defensive tackle spot is "certainly a possibility."
Desmond Bryant held down the position last season, but he's a free agent, and the Raiders may not re-sign him. The 3-technique position is generally the pass-rushing defensive tackle spot. Houston has accumulated ten sacks in his first three seasons, while also being stout against the run.

Raiders LE Lamarr Houston has changed agents to Drew Rosenhaus.
Houston has two years left on his rookie deal, though he may begin angling for a raise after another big season. While the 24-year-old's sacks dipped in 2011, he was a high-impact run defender and pass rusher, the latter in terms of quarterback hurries. New Raiders coach Dennis Allen figures to use more standard 4-3 principles, so Houston may play more tackle going forward.

Raiders coach Hue Jackson singled out Lamarr Houston as a player he wants to see more ''flash'' from down the stretch.
"He’s done some really good things," Jackson said. "He plays consistent, plays really hard. Obviously, you want to see more flash because he has that kind of ability, but he’s been very consistent and solid for our football team. I’m looking forward to him coming on these last three weeks and playing really well."

Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson believes Raiders LE Lamarr Houston will eventually be "one of the best defensive linemen in the league."
Per Williamson, Houston has an "immense talent level" as perhaps the best athlete at the position in the NFL. The 2010 second-rounder was excellent on run defense as a rookie, and Williamson believes the raw pass-rushing skills will improve with coaching. Houston could flirt with double-digit sacks in a breakout season.

Raiders WR Jacoby Ford (Lisfranc surgery) says his foot is 100 percent healed.
Ford suffered Lisfranc injuries in each of the past two seasons, but finally appears to be 100 percent. The explosive receiver has a career 17.0 YPR average, and anticipates being used on returns this season in addition to being one of the team's top pass catchers. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, it will be important for Ford to show he can remain healthy.

New Raiders KR Josh Cribbs (meniscus surgery) says he'll be ready "when it’s time to play football."
Cribbs called Jets GM John Idzik's observation that his knee "(wasn't) quite there yet" a "negotiation tactic" before admitting he might not be ready to practice for over a month. Regardless, Cribbs should be ready well in advance of Week 1, and is slotted in as the Raiders' primary return man.
