Ed Dickson was targeted heavily during OTAs and minicamp.
With Anquan Boldin gone and no real No. 2 wideout on the roster, the Ravens are expected to expand the roles of their tight ends in the passing game. Dickson will be the in-line tight end, running shorter routes near the line of scrimmage. Dennis Pitta will be playing the F spot, using his superior athleticism and ball skills to get up the field. Although the Carroll County Times says Dickson was one of the most impressive Ravens during the offseason, we still prefer Pitta by a wide margin for fantasy purposes.

Ravens TE Ed Dickson says his early-season shoulder injury "kind of threw me off" in 2012, leading to a down year statistically.
Dickson has been working on his chemistry with Joe Flacco and hopes it translates to more targets. "We're building right now to become eye to eye," he said. "I'm trying to get that three-way going: me, [Flacco] and [Dennis] Pitta. I'm trying to be in the circle." OC Jim Caldwell plans to use even more two-tight sets with Anquan Boldin out of the picture, but we wouldn't expect Dickson to be fantasy relevant in 2013.

Ravens re-signed restricted free agent TE Ed Dickson to a one-year, $1.32 million deal.
Dickson didn't draw an offer sheet before the April 19 deadline, so signing his tender was his only choice if he wanted to play football this season. The Ravens' No. 2 pass-catching tight end, Dickson slumped to a 21/225/0 line last season after catching 54 passes for 528 yards and five touchdowns in 2011. He's not going to make a fantasy impact in 2013.

Ravens restricted free agent Ed Dickson has signed an offseason participation agreement to participate in OTAs.
It's a sign Dickson will soon ink his tender, or perhaps sign off on a multi-year deal. Assistant GM Eric DeCosta recently singled out Dickson as a player the Ravens expect to "take a step forward this season." Dickson has yet to be a consistent fantasy threat in his three-year career, and that won't change in 2013.

Ravens placed WR LaQuan Williams on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, ending his season.
A deep reserve, Williams appeared in just 11 games on special teams this season, and failed to play a snap on offense. The second-year undrafted free agent will have to claw for a roster spot in 2013.
