Rams OT Rodger Saffold has accepted his move to right tackle.
"This game is a business; that’s just the way it is," Saffold said. "I talked to my coach and basically they told me that they had a lot of faith in me to play right tackle and try to use my versatility as an advantage for the team." Saffold has wisely adopted the good-soldier approach as he heads into the final year of his rookie contract. He could make a difference at right tackle after being replacement-level on the blindside.

Coach Jeff Fisher says the Rams have "no issues" with RT Rodger Saffold.
Saffold would rather be traded than shifted to right tackle, but apparently isn't making trouble at Rams OTAs. "He’s having fun, working out, in really good shape," Fisher said. Unless the Rams get an offer they can't refuse, Saffold should be bookending Jake Long come Week 1.

The National Football Post's Dan Pompei reports the Rams are not interested in trading RT Rodger Saffold.
Saffold, a 35-game starter at left tackle, was initially disgruntled with his move to right tackle after the Jake Long signing. Things have reportedly "calmed down," and that showed with Saffold's decision to report to voluntary workouts. Pompei adds that the "expectation" is Saffold will be a Ram for a "long time."

RT Rodger Saffold reported for the beginning of the Rams' offseason program on Monday.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported last week Saffold had no plans to hold out, but it's an excellent sign for the Rams he's even showing up to voluntary workouts. Saffold will play the good soldier as he waits for a new deal or to be traded. Going into the final year of his rookie contract, Saffold will only be a candidate for an extension if he's willing to take right-tackle money. That's not something he's likely to do.

Rams TE Lance Kendricks had his right knee scoped last month.
Kendricks was dealing with swelling in his knee and decided to have it cleaned out. The former second-round pick showed up on the injury report a couple of times last season with a knee injury, but he didn't miss a game. With Jared Cook in town, Kendricks is expected to focus on blocking in 2013. He's sitting out OTAs, but he should be ready for training camp.
