Dray earned a bigger role by excelling on special teams, but it was an uneven debut as a starter. He failed to record a catch on just one target, as the Cardinals don't utilize tight ends in the passing attack.

With Friday's release of Anthony Becht, rookie TE Jim Dray has all but solidified his spot on the Cardinals' final roster.
Dray was injury prone throughout his college career, but seems to have defied all odds and made the team. The seventh-rounder won't have any fantasy impact.

At this point, it'd be a pretty big shock if Dray made the team. A seventh-round flier pick from Stanford, Dray's football career has been marred by injuries.

Cardinals agreed to terms with seventh-round TE Jim Dray on a four-year, $1.84 million contract.
Dray finally returned to Stanford's starting lineup last season after shredding his left knee, hamstring, popliteus muscle, post anterior capsule, and lateral band on the same play in 2007. Considered one of the draft's premier blocking tight ends, Dray is likely ticketed for the practice squad as a rookie.

Coach Bruce Arians reiterated that the running back spot is open to competition.
Rashard Mendenhall may be the slight favorite as he had his best years under Arians in Pittsburgh and will be roughly 20 months removed from his ACL tear when Week 1 rolls around. But Ryan Williams, Stepfan Taylor and Andre Ellington will all be in the mix as well. "You really can't tell until the lights come on," Arians said. "Some were different from this morning's walkthrough to the afternoon practice. Until you turn the lights on, you really don't know about them."

Cardinals TE Jeff King is recovering from knee surgery, but could be ready to resume practicing by early June.
The blocking tight end is sitting out OTAs, but sounds like he'll be ready for training camp. He's likely recovering from a scope. A seven-year veteran, King graded out as the third-worst tight end in the league in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season.
