ESPN's Dan Graziano believes Leonard Hankerson is still behind Josh Morgan on the Redskins' depth chart.
Hankerson had plenty of chances last season thanks to Pierre Garcon's injury, but showed no separation skills en route to a disappointing 38/543/3 line. If he can't give the Redskins difference-making plays as a receiver, they'll go with Morgan as the far superior blocker.

NFL defensive coaches have been unimpressed by Leonard Hankerson's ability to create separation through Hankerson's first two NFL seasons.
Hankerson is blessed with great size and massive hands, but his 2012 performance was incredibly inconsistent both on the field and in the box score. He typically only got open when play-action gave him room to run downfield. Beat writer John Keim says he'd still "strongly bet" on 24-year-old Hankerson improving in his third season. We'll keep tabs on him this spring and summer.

Washington Examiner
Leonard Hankerson caught two passes for 27 yards in Sunday's Wild Card round loss to the Seahawks.
He dropped a wide open pass over the middle to kill a crucial drive before Robert Griffin III left with a knee injury. Pro Football Focus also counted three drops for Hankerson during the season. We must have seen all of them on a running loop. Hankerson was a major disappointment this season, struggling to separate and showing little run-after-catch ability. The Redskins can't count on him to ascend to a starting role in 2013.
Jan 6 - 8:30 PM
Leonard Hankerson caught one pass for 12 yards in Washington's Week 17 loss to the Cowboys.
A popular preseason sleeper, Hankerson finishes 2012 with just 38 catches for 543 yards. He was held to two catches or fewer in six of seven games following Pierre Garcon's return from a foot injury. Still only 23 years old, HankTime's combination of size and speed makes him worth holding onto in Dynasty leagues, but it's too early to tell what kind of value he'll offer in redraft formats next season.

Robert Griffin III
Sidelined
When Robert Griffin III (ACL, LCL surgery) walks without a brace, he does not limp.
RG3 was spotted limping slightly after some minicamp practices, but it appears that was due to a bulky brace. He raced rookie tight end Jordan Reed last week and won, confirming his long speed has returned. Reed ran a respectable 4.72 forty at the Combine. By all accounts, Griffin is ahead of schedule in his rehab.

Roy Helu (Achilles', toe) expects to be a full participant in next week's minicamp.
Helu made it through two days of OTAs without incident this week, and finally appears healthy enough to fight for a roster spot. With Helu, there's always the possibility of a setback, but he should be 100 percent for camp as he tries to earn third-down duties.

Chris Thompson
Sidelined
Redskins rookie RB Chris Thompson (torn ACL) is "more than a month away" from receiving full clearance, but is tentatively expected to be ready for training camp.
"It’s something I have to be patient with," Thompson said. "But I know my time will come." A pint-sized (5-foot-7, 192 pounds) scatback, Thompson will be in the mix for third-down duties as long as he's healthy come the preseason.

Sidelined
Pierre Garcon is planning to wear special shoes this season to help with the torn ligament in his right foot.
Garcon has opted against surgery because there's no guarantee that it will completely solve his injury. Therefore, he's looking toward pain management. "I have to learn a lot about my foot and how I run and things like that with all these injuries, but it's getting better," he said. If anywhere near 100 percent, Garcon has monster upside as an explosive "X" receiver in the Shanahan & Son offense. We'll get a better look at his progress in training camp.

Coach Mike Shanahan says Fred Davis (Achilles') will be held out of next week's minicamp.
Shanahan "doesn't want" Davis to practice and instead wants to "use caution" and hold the tight end out until training camp, even though he could play in a game if he had to next week. There's no reason for the Redskins to rush Davis, but it's clear he's on track to be on the field in July.

Jordan Reed
Sidelined
Redskins third-round TE Jordan Reed (leg) has yet to practice at OTAs, and doesn't expect to be cleared for June's minicamp.
Reed expects to be cleared in three weeks, which would have him just missing minicamp, but ready for training camp. "It’s going good," Reed said Thursday. "I’m getting stronger, getting my muscle back. That’s all I really need to do: get my muscle back and I’ll be all set." Reed could fight for targets as a rookie with Fred Davis coming back from a torn Achilles', but he's not off to a great start.
