Coach Chuck Pagano said to expect more three- and five-step drops from Andrew Luck this season.
Under Bruce Arians, Luck took mostly seven-step drops. He rarely dumped off passes to running backs and always looked to aggressively push the ball vertically. Now that Arians is out and Pep Hamilton is in, a true West Coast scheme is being installed. "We want to be efficient. The biggest difference might be a little bit more quick-game, if you will. Get the ball out of Andrew's hands," Pagano said. "Get it into our playmakers' hands. A little bit more catch-and-run type of things." Luck is at the back end of the QB1 rankings in fantasy circles.

The National Football Post's Dan Pompei reports new Colts OC Pep Hamilton is trying to adapt to as much of Bruce Arians' offense as possible.
Hamilton is "trying to minimize changes" and "make it easier" on younger players while sticking with what worked so well. We still expect more West Coast tendencies to be implemented by Hamilton, but keeping the offense as vertical and pass-happy as possible would be good news for the fantasy prospects of Andrew Luck and especially second-year burner T.Y. Hilton.

New Colts OC Pep Hamilton says he may "mix in some read-option" in 2013.
"We’ll do a great job of mixing in some power runs, mixing in the downfield passing game, maybe even mixing in some wildcat plays, mix in some read-option, pistol-type schemes," Hamilton said. "Just really try and present once again a lot of conflicts for our opponents." Andrew Luck certainly has the athleticism to make plays with his feet, but we wouldn't expect a huge uptick on his 2012 running numbers (62 carries for 255 yards and five touchdowns). However, even 2-3 more rushing scores would be a boon for his fantasy prospects.

New Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton says he'll run more of a West Coast offense than Bruce Arians did in Indianapolis.
Under Arians, the Colts relied on a high-volume passing game that sought to pick up yards in chunks. Andrew Luck averaged a healthy 12.9 yards per completion. Luck is very unlikely to approach that number in 2013, and his attempts will likely also be down. "The short, efficient passing game, a high completion rate," Hamilton explained when quizzed on what he's aiming for. "I’m a big believer of the power-running game and I think that ultimately opens up your passing game, the play-action passes." The Colts were in the middle of the pack when it came to play-action in 2012, but that figures to rise under Hamilton. We might be a bit wary of expecting Luck to top 4,300 yards passing again.

The Indianapolis Star projects Ahmad Bradshaw as the Colts' starting tailback, ahead of Vick Ballard.
We've anticipated the same; Bradshaw is an upgrade on Ballard in pretty much every area, from pass protection to big-play run skills. The Indy Star does concede Bradshaw may open training camp on the active/PUP list as the Colts manage his recovery from foot surgery. He hasn't practiced with the team yet. Due to Bradshaw's injury history, the Colts could wind up keeping four running backs on the 53-man roster. Bradshaw and Ballard are locked in, and rookie Kerwynn Williams is expected to be Indianapolis' primary kickoff returner. Donald Brown and Delone Carter will compete for one roster spot.

Delone Carter recently underwent shoulder surgery.
Carter tumbled down the depth chart last season, getting just 32 carries in 10 games before an ankle injury landed him on the inactive list. The extent of this surgery is unclear, but he won't have a good shot at carries this year either. Both Vick Ballard and Donald Brown are back.
