Cam Newton completed 28-of-52 passes for 238 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the Panthers' 28-23, Week 6 loss to the Eagles, adding 11 rushes for 71 yards and an additional score.
Newton nearly had a second rushing score, but he was ruled out of bounds upon review. It was a dazzling effort. Otherwise, Newton was about as bad as the numbers look, even though two of his interceptions were not his fault. RG Trai Turner was pushed into him on INT No. 1 while No. 2 was more of a Jonathan Stewart drop. That being said, Newton was lucky to get away with as "few" picks as he did, as he made a host of extremely inaccurate throws. In addition to his usual high misses, Newton also turfed a few balls, including a game-ending incompletion to Christian McCaffrey. Fletcher Cox was making life miserable for an offensive line still missing C Ryan Kalil, while the Panthers had zero running game aside from their quarterback. With 10 days to heal up, Newton gets the Bears' injury-wrecked defense in Week 7. Oct 12 - 11:48 PM
