The Packers are "strongly considering" removing Randall Cobb from kickoff and punt returns in 2013.
Coach Mike McCarthy hinted at this in February. Cobb led the NFL in all-purpose yards last season, but he'll be Green Bay's featured passing-game weapon inside the numbers with Greg Jennings gone to Minnesota. "I really don’t think I’ve peaked yet," Cobb said. "I’m 22 years old. I’ve got a lot of learning still to do. I have a long way to go and I just hope I continue to get better."

Coach Mike McCarthy "hopes" Randall Cobb won't be playing special teams in 2013.
Cobb is set to take over the starting slot receiver spot with free agent Greg Jennings moving on, and the Packers want to be careful not to expose him to extra hits in the return game. Fellow receiver Jeremy Ross could be the early favorite to replace Cobb on returns. This will help Cobb's fantasy value.

Fox Sports Wisconsin says there's a "100 percent chance" Randall Cobb is in the starting lineup in 2013.
It's not unexpected news, but serves to confirm what we already knew was going to be the case. Cobb "started" just eight games in 2012 and exploded onto the scene. With Greg Jennings on his way out of town, Cobb will have the slot all to himself with Jordy Nelson and James Jones on the outside. He's a shoo-in WR2 in fantasy drafts, while he checks in as our own Evan Silva's No. 29 overall player in his post-season top 150.

Randall Cobb rushed twice for 23 yards and caught five passes for 24 yards as the Packers fell to the 49ers in the Divisional Round.
Cobb aligned often as a single-setback riding sidesaddle with Aaron Rodgers in the shotgun. His long gain went for 19 in the third quarter on a traditional handoff. Cobb did not generate any big plays in the passing game, however. Cobb is still just 22 years old, and he'll likely have the slot all to himself in Green Bay's 2013 offense with free agent Greg Jennings expected to depart. Cobb will be a WR2 to target in fantasy drafts next season.
