Jets WR Clyde Gates was declared done for the day in Week 17 with a head injury.
Gates battled a concussion late in the season, so it's fair to wonder if he suffered another one. A 2011 fourth-round pick by the division rival Dolphins, Gates latched on with the Jets after Miami's final cuts and wound up playing significant snaps in New York, mostly due to injuries. The raw, deep-threat prospect finished the season with 16 catches for 224 yards and no touchdowns.

Clyde Gates caught three passes for a team-leading 65 yards in New York's Week 16 loss to the Chargers.
Today was just the second time all year Gates cleared 30 yards. Whether or not the former fourth-round pick is back with the Jets next season will depend on if GM Mike Tannenbaum is retained.

Clyde Gates (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Saturday and is officially listed as questionable for Week 15 on Monday night versus the Titans.
Gates did not practice at all on Thursday or Friday and hasn't played at all since Thanksgiving night against the Patriots. The speedy receiver still has to pass another concussion test, though, so he'll be a game-time decision. Gates isn't a fantasy option.

Gates has not been cleared despite suffering his concussion on Thanksgiving. He's missing a prime opportunity for snaps with the Jets' receiving corps decimated.

Santonio Holmes (foot) is not participating in voluntary workouts, as expected.
Holmes has been at Ohio State during the first set of Jets minicamps, taking classes and rehabbing his Lisfranc fracture. He admitted he couldn't play if there was a game this week, and may not even be a full go at training camp. Even if Holmes does get back to 100 percent, he should not be considered a starter in fantasy circles. He has recorded one 100-yard day in his last 20 games.

Jets WR Stephen Hill admits he didn't "understand the whole football concept" as a rookie.
That could be a problem. Hill also admits he was bothered by the intense media scrutiny. "We’re always on ESPN for something, and it was just a lot," Hill said. "It put pressure on learning, and then having to explain if I messed up, so that’s where most of the pressure was. ... It probably did throw me off during games, you’re just out there running." Hill has been put on notice by coach Rex Ryan, but WRs coach Sanjay Lal believes he could have a big year: "He can be whoever he wants to be." A large part of Hill's progress will depend on who's under center.
