The Cardinals' website writes that second-year WR Michael Floyd appears to have made "a big leap" in his second NFL offseason.
Floyd worked ahead of Andre Roberts at the start of OTAs and appears to be in the driver's seat to open the season as the starter opposite Larry Fitzgerald. It'll be a camp battle to monitor. Floyd ultimately had a slow rookie year, but finished fast with 14 catches for 213 yards and a touchdown combined in Weeks 16 and 17. Arizona's quarterback situation has also received a big upgrade.

Michael Floyd ran with the starters more often than Andre Roberts at the outset of Cardinals OTAs.
Floyd was buried on the depth chart early last season, but came on late to finish with a 45/562/2 line. Per the Arizona Republic, Floyd now looks "impressive" and "more confident." He certainly has the talent edge on Roberts and fits Bruce Arians' aggressive, vertical scheme well. If Floyd can lock down the No. 2 gig opposite Larry Fitzgerald, he's going to be an ideal sleeper in fantasy circles.

Speaking at the Scouting Combine, new Cardinals coach Bruce Arians described 2012 first-round pick Michael Floyd as a "bright young star."
Arians loves the receiver corps he inherited; he just needs someone to get them the ball. "He is a bright young star," Arians said of Floyd. "He has to get better fundamentally. But he's physical, he's big, he's active. I loved him coming out. To see he and Larry across from each other, and Andre Roberts, that's a nice group. That's one position we don't have to worry about."

Mike Jurecki of XTRA Phoenix expects 2012 first-round pick Michael Floyd to be the Cardinals' No. 3 receiver in 2013.
Jurecki notes that Floyd is a good "downfield option" at receiver, which fits Bruce Arians' vertical-passing mindset. In Jurecki's scenario, Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Roberts would continue to be the bookend starters in two-wide sets, with Roberts likely kicking inside to the slot on passing downs. The Cardinals' receivers will move around the formation more than ever, though.

Coach Bruce Arians reiterated that the running back spot is open to competition.
Rashard Mendenhall may be the slight favorite as he had his best years under Arians in Pittsburgh and will be roughly 20 months removed from his ACL tear when Week 1 rolls around. But Ryan Williams, Stepfan Taylor and Andre Ellington will all be in the mix as well. "You really can't tell until the lights come on," Arians said. "Some were different from this morning's walkthrough to the afternoon practice. Until you turn the lights on, you really don't know about them."

The blocking tight end is sitting out OTAs, but sounds like he'll be ready for training camp. He's likely recovering from a scope. A seven-year veteran, King graded out as the third-worst tight end in the league in Pro Football Focus' ratings last season.
