A source tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Bill Cowher will not return to coaching in 2013.
Over the past couple weeks, Cowher has reportedly been contacted by "several" teams -- one of which was "likely" the Browns. But the ex-Steelers boss is saying he's not interested right now "because he is comfortable with his professional and personal life" as a CBS studio analyst. Cowher, 55, may not be interested for another four or five years, according to the Post-Gazette's source.

Former Steelers coach Bill Cowher expects to coach again in the future.
The Steelers' head man from 1992-2006, Cowher has been away from coaching for six full seasons, but believes his job as a T.V. analyst has helped keep him sharp. "One thing about this job is it’s been really good because it allows me to study the game and do features on the game," Cowher said. "It’s not like I’m out of it. I know how the game is changing." Cowher rumors have become an annual part of hiring season, but he hasn't been credibly linked to any of this year's open jobs. If he returns to the sideline, it will likely be 2014 at the earliest.

Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau told the team that he'll be back for 2013.
LeBeau, 75, said "it will be up to [head coach] Mike Tomlin," but he did tell his defensive players that he would return for his tenth season as the team's defensive coordinator. Pittsburgh ranks No. 1 in total defense, but the unit ranks tenth in points allowed, and is No. 27 in turnovers forced. The defense is also getting long in the tooth and is in major need of an infusion of young talent.

Steelers signed coach Mike Tomlin to a three-year extension through 2016.
File this one under "no-brainer." In addition to a pair of Super Bowl appearances, Tomlin boasts four AFC North championships in five years. Only once has his defense failed to finish first or second in the NFL. A charismatic motivator, tone setter and team leader, Tomlin is also one of the best quotes in the business. The 40-year-old's career winning percentage of .688 (55-25), tied with Ravens coach John Harbaugh, is good for seventh in league history.

Ben Roethlisberger says Heath Miller (knee surgery) is walking without a limp.
Miller tore his ACL, MCL and PCL 3 1/2 months ago. It's a good sign that he's off crutches, but he's limited to weightlifting work for now and remains a strong bet to start the year on the PUP list. The Steelers have been linked to Notre Dame TE Tyler Eifert with the No. 17 overall pick in next week's draft.
