Colts GM Ryan Grigson says the plan is to use second-year TE Coby Fleener out in space more often in 2013.
Fleener, the No. 34 overall pick in last year's draft, had a mostly disappointing rookie campaign. He played in just 13 games, including the playoffs, due to a shoulder injury and caught only 29 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns. A pure pass catcher in college, Fleener was asked to block nearly half of the time as a rookie. Per Pro Football Focus, he ran just 9.1 percent of his routes out of the slot. Expect that to be much higher this season.

Coby Fleener three passes on five targets for 25 yards at Baltimore in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
Fleener's 7-yard reception led to a 47-yard Adam Vinatieri field goal, but he was non-factor the rest of the way. The 34th overall pick in the 2012 draft was overshadowed by third-round Dwayne Allen, finishing 39th in fantasy points. He was limited to 12 games by shoulder and head injuries. Fleener remains an intriguing "hold" in Dynasty leagues.

Coby Fleener caught a one-yard touchdown in Sunday's win over the Texans.
Fleener scored on the Colts' opening drive of the game, but was otherwise not involved on offense. Since returning in Week 12, he hasn't had more than 26 yards receiving in any game and is still behind Dwayne Allen as Andrews Luck's favorite tight end. Fleener will look to get back in the end zone for next week's Wild Card matchup with the Ravens.

Coby Fleener caught one pass for two yards in the Colts' Week 16 win over Kansas City.
He was targeted three times. Fleener has not gained more than 30 yards in any game since mid-October. He'll continue to function as the Colts' No. 2 tight end, behind Dwayne Allen, in Indianapolis' Week 17 meeting with Houston.

Colts placed RB Donald Brown (ankle) and FB Robert Hughes on season-ending injured reserve.
We suspected a high-ankle sprain after Brown was ruled out so quickly last week. The transaction is welcome news for the workload of Vick Ballard, who faces Houston's stout run defense in two of the next three weeks. The oft-injured Brown has missed multiple games in three of his four seasons with the Colts. While he's likely to be back with the team at a reasonable $1.705 million salary next season, Brown has fallen behind Ballard in the eyes of the organization. His Dynasty value is in the tank.
